In addition to his iconic role as James Tiberius Kirk on Star Trek and his starring turn in several other TV series, Shatner has written several dozen novels, including the Tekwar series and other Star Trek novels that are considered canon to the TV series. He has also written several non-fiction books about his experience with Trek, particularly the fans’ obsessions towards the show.

Shatner has also been a part of several Star Trek documentaries over the years, including one called The Captains, in which he interviews the other captains that have been in the other Star Trek television series over the past five decades. Shatner is also an avid horse trainer/rider and is not shy about letting people know this interesting fact during interviews.
