Steve Carell is best known for his appearances on The Daily Show and the hit TV series The Office but has recently garnered much critical acclaim and financial success from his film work. In addition to his cameos and small roles in comedy films, Carell has lately taken a more lead actor role and has branched off into more serious work. At the Cannes Film Festival, his role in Foxcatcher has already received enormous critical response.

Carell grew up in a large Catholic family and has three older brothers. He and his wife Nancy Carell, both of whom as Saturday Night Live alums, have two children together, a boy and a girl. He and Nancy met while he was teaching an improve class at Second City.
