Seth Rogen is a long time friend and co-worker with Director/Producer Judd Apatow. They met during Rogen’s first acting gig on Freaks and Geeks, produced by Apatow. Impressed by Rogen’s comedy style, he cast him again on another short lived TV show, Undeclared, about college students. While he struggled to gain auditions after the cancellation of these shows, Apatow kept him in mind until he would cast him later in several hit films.

 

Active in several charity organizations, Rogen is a hardcore supporter of Gay and Lesbian rights and an admitted marijuana user. He also supports Alzheimer’s disease awareness as his mother-in-law is affected by it.

Brittany Murphy had a tragically short life and died under somewhat controversial circumstances. She had been on several prescription and over-the-counter drugs when she collapsed in her bathroom in Los Angeles. Medics attempted to resuscitate her at the scene but she was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Though the primary cause of her death appeared to be pneumonia, there were many legal drugs in her system. Some family members claim mold in her house was a factor. Her widower Simon Monjack was found dead in the same home less than six months later.

 

In addition to her acting career, Murphy was also an accomplish singer. She was in a band during the early 90s and even released a hit single during this time. She covered two songs, Somebody to Love by Queen and Boogie Wonderland by Earth, Wind & Fire, on the soundtrack album to Happy Feet.

Downey Jr. was born and raised in the Manhattan neighborhood of Greenwich Village, an area known for both its artistic history and rampant drug use among many of its inhabitants. Robert was no different and often did drugs with his father who was also an actor and director. During the late 90s, Downey Jr. had many legal troubles because of illicit drug use but has been clean since 2003.

 

Downey Jr. has been instrumental in the recent resurgence of the comic book film, starring as Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, in a number of high budget, hit films from Marvel Studios. Vincent Price was revered by many film makers during and after his lifetime. Tim Burton, for example, has admitted to being obsessed with Price and even wrote the stop motion short entitled Vincent as a tribute to the horror icon. Price himself narrated the film himself. He was known for his deep, sonorous voice that no doubt led to his status as a master of the macabre.
