1899 – Born on June 2nd in Joliet, Illinois. Edwin Way Teale was a naturalist, writer, and photographer who captured the imaginations and hearts of Americans in his many books about nature.
1941 – He left his New York career in October to fulfill that dream.
1943 – He also won the John Burroughs Award for nature writing.
1951 – The first of the books, North with the Spring, was published.
1956-1960 – He wrote books describing all the American seasons: Autumn Across America, Journey Into Summer, and Wandering Through Winter.
– The Teale family moved from Long Island to an old farm near Hampton, Connecticut.
1966 – He won the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction for Wandering Through Winter.
1975 – He received the Ecology Award of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
1980 – Died on October 18th.
