1978-1995 – Returns as Sportscaster for CBS TV, and Monday night Football on radio.
Hank Stram retired in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he built a home in the town of Covington.
2005 – He died at St. Tammany Parish hospital in Covington, from complications due to diabetes, on the 4th of July. He was 82 years old.
